Course: Introduction to Photography

Description: An introduction to photography using basic tools, techniques, and aesthetics of 35mm black and white photography. Course stresses the use of the photographic medium as a creative tool within a fine art context. Students learn technical skills in addition to analysis, interpretation, and individual expression. Concepts and processes are explored through lectures, assignments, videos, presentations, gallery talks/visits, and writing exercises.
